"As a Jew" Jews Part 2: Hypocrites and Self-Hatred

Beinart it seems has crawled out from under his rock today and exhorted all of us who truly care about Israel to boycott products originating in the settlements. Zionism-BDS he calls it. Interesting concept take the political movement, Zionism, aka, the return of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland and juxtapose it with the boycott-divestment-sanction group, which even the most ardent anti-Israel propagandists openly says  is basically about genocide against the Jewish State, and join them together. Not sure how that is supposed to work actually. Jews are allowed to return to their ancient homeland, but only as beggars? Jews are allowed to return to their ancient homeland, but not as full humanbeings? Jews are allowed to return to their ancient homeland but can only defend their fellow Jews that live on the right side of the armistice lines, the others its OK to butcher?

Perhaps the raison d'etre goes something like this: As the Jews return to Zion,  Zionism-BDS celebrates that the Arabs butcher them if they have the nerve to be uppity-Jews wanting to live on land captured in a war of self-defense? To extrapolate, it seems under Zionism-BDS such murders would be expected, celebrated and honored. In fact we saw that happen throughout the Arab and leftist world when the Fogel family was slaughtered one year ago. Settlers had been so dehumanized that articles had to be written to remind everyone that settlers are humanbeings. Sad really. That the world needed to be reminded that you cannot kill a child because they are Jewish and chose to live in Judea and Samaria is revolting. That fellow Jews, like Beinart and his ilk,  promote this antisemitism is reprehensible.

The world has spent eons dehumanizing the Jews. Today we witnessed yet again the effects of antisemitism outside a Jewish school in France. This time there will be recrimination and hand-ringing because of these murders. This murdered father and his children were the "good Jews" of the world that the Left likes, those that lived in the diaspora far away from the hills of Judea. The "good Jews" who tried to not make trouble. The "good Jews" who did not carry guns. The "good Jews" who are entitled to the world's thoughts and care. The "good Jews" that Zionism-BDS says should be allowed to live.

It is a sad day when other Jews decide to make themselves politically relevant by finding a new way to incorporate  Jew-hatred into their political sphere. It is a sad day when other Jews use antisemitism and a convoluted thought process to make themselves appear important. It is a sad day when other Jews, hold up the fact that they pray at an orthodox synagogue as proof that they are not self-hating Jews, while exhorting the world to dehumanize their fellow Jews. Beinart, who prays at an orthodox synagogue, needs to point to the passage in the Tanach, or the Talmud, where he finds  the underlying philosophies of  Zionism-BDS  extolled as a blessing before Almighty God rather than an abomination.

Remember just because someone keeps a kosher home does not mean their politics and their perceptions are kosher. To hide behind a false religiosity and a self-righteous demeanor is a sin before God. If Beinart is as orthodox as he claims he should have known that.

UPDATE: Muslim Persecution of Christians February 2012

Raymond Ibrahim with his exhaustive and frightening list:

Half of Iraq's indigenous Christians are gone, due to the unleashed forces of jihad [holy war]. Many Christians fled to nearby Syria; yet, as the Assad regime comes under attack from al-Qaeda and others, the jihad now seeps into Syria, where Christians are experiencing a level of persecution unprecedented in the nation's modern history. Similarly, some 100,000 Christian Copts have fled their native Egypt since the overthrow of the Mubarak regime; and in northern regions of Nigeria, where the jihadi group, Boko Haram, has been slaughtering Christians, up to 95% of the Christian population has fled.
Meanwhile, the "big news" concerning the Muslim world in the month of February—the news that flooded the mainstream media and had U.S. politicians, beginning with President Obama, flustered, angry, and full of regret—was that some written-in [in Islam it is forbidden to write anything in a Korans] in Afghanistan were burned by U.S. soldiers because imprisoned Muslim inmates had been using them "to facilitate extremist communications."
Categorized by theme, February's batch of Muslim persecution of Christians around the world includes (but is not limited to) the following accounts, listed in alphabetical order by country, not severity.
Church Attacks
Algeria: Armed men raided and ransacked a church that had been formally recognized since 1958, and dismantled the crucifix. The pastor and his family, trapped inside, feared that "they could kill us." The pastor "has been repeatedly threatened and attacked since being ordained in 2007. In the summer of 2009, his wife was beaten and seriously injured by a group of unknown men. Then, in late 2011, heaps of trash were thrown over the compound walls while an angry mob shouted death threats."

The Soldiers of Iron Dome

300 missiles and mortars were launched at the southern part of Israel last weekend by terrorist groups operating out of Hamastan.  The Iron Dome missile intercept system did its job. Here is a look at some of the Israeli young people protecting southern Israel.

Watcher's Council Nominations...Green Beer N' Leprechauns Edition

Welcome to the Watcher's Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the 'sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday.

Ah yes, it's St. Patrick's Day...back when I was a single gentleman, this used to be one of my favorite holidays, for reasons best left to the imagination.

At any rate, it's a day to celebrate the extraordinary Irish and have a marvelous time at it...and maybe get a glimpse of a vision of your own pot o' gold.

Hamas Rocket Ranges

How long would you live under a threat like this? So why should Israel?

Also please don't be obtuse and tell me that its not Hamas firing rockets. They are either in control of Gaza or they are not. Either they are capable of intervening with other terrorist groups or they can't.  If they are in control and the rockets continue then it is their fault. If they are not able to control other groups then they are not in control and Israel has no need to even contemplate talking to them, no matter what the USA or anyone else does.

chart h/t A Soldier's Mother

#IsraelUnderFire

Unlike the tweeted-picture of a dead Palestinian child (the child was supposed to have died in Israeli strikes) which was proven to be a lie (sadly the child died in an accident in 2006, an incident wholly unrelated to the Arab-Israeli crisis), HERE...

Honest Reporting has an article on the progenitor of this lie. A UN official...

Meanwhile this picture of an Israeli mother protecting her children during a rocket attack  is real.

Yes the picture is from 2009, but the rocket attacks are still coming and this mother is still protecting her children because they didn't have time to get to a shelter. Life in the south of Israel has been the same since Hamas took over Gaza.

You also don't hear the news discussing who Israel targeted during the raids..Here is the complete list of the terrorists killed and their organizations:

Popular Resistance Committees:

Islamic Jihad:
Mahmoud Najim

List h/t Challah hu Akbar

Sadly , yes a Palestinian teenager was killed in an Israeli strike. But you don't exactly see Jews celebrating do you? Israel can't control where Islamic Jihad, PRC and Hamas put their weapons batteries. Israel is also not going to allow attacks agaisnt her populations to go unheeded.

Attacking civilians and hiding behind civilians, as the Palestinians do, are war crimes. But it seems noone is calling the Palestinians out for their evil...not a word, not in the media, not in the halls of western democratic nations, and most certainly not from the UN.

The only thing you do hear is from the USA State Department, which somehow has decided that there is a moral equivalency in this most recent battle. Something is seriously wrong when the largest and most powerful democracy in the history of the world decides that defending your citizens from attack is the same as being the terrorists. Yet sadly, this is just some more of the foreign policy ignorance we have come to expect from the Obama administration and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

UPDATE: CAMERA reporting says an investigation has proven that the Palestinian teen who died did not die from an Israeli strike.

UPDATE: Israel is continuing to keep open the Gaza crossings in order to bring necessities to the people of Gaza despite the incredible rocket barrage against her own citizens. However, terrorists are now targeting the aide convoys.

You can't make this stuff up.

Make sure to check out the rocket counter in the sidebar.
